Re: Honey BeesMichael,
I do not raise bees but here are some links to information for you to look at until those who have a few hives respond: http://www.ent.uga.edu/bees/Get_Started/How_to_Get_Started.htm http://entomology.ucdavis.edu/faculty/Mussen/beebriefs/Started.pdf http://maarec.psu.edu/pdfs/Info_for_Bee-ginners_PM.pdf Good luck. Re: Honey BeesMichael,
Probably the best way to learn about beekeeping is to find a local beekeeper and ask them if they would mentor you. To find such a person, contact your local ag extension office. Have them give you the name and contact information for the State Apiary Inspector. That person should be able to recommend someone in your area. In the meantime, get yourself a copy of "Beekeeping for Dummies" (no reflection on you), and read it several times. It will introduce you to the basic principles and terminology. Good luck.
