I'm with David; pure bred dogs tend to be too high strung. A well trained mutt will beat them every time.

I'd have to disagree, I have three pure Shetland Sheepdogs ( or do they have me?) and feel thay are great dogs, well mannered, laid back and very loyal. Our middle aged one, Maddie, displays great herding instincs and hates critters that have invaded her space. well heck, i think we all love dogs, no matter breed, pure or mutt..... so my vote is for a Shetland or a Border Collie. Jim
