I don't see that as any more dangerous than a belt drive. A simple guard could be made for the tire/pulley pinch point. HOWEVER the size of the tire to the size of the pulley is a large increase in rpm. Not sure that is safe. I'm having a problem seeing how it works. Check the direction of rotation of the pto shaft and the direction of rotation of the saw. Help? I think I'll take a pass. Vern

Looks like it was done in a way that could easily be returned to the factory design. (Returning it would only have a slight risk to fingers and hands, not a certain loose clothing removal tool) This is like having a 10HP clothing ringer.

If I am looking and thinking correctly, that is for a CW pto, which normally means 540 rpm. That tire would allow sawing speeds at low engine rpm.

dose not look as dangerous as this rig which I have been around my whole life and the worst thing I ever knew of happening with it was a dumb kid (me) that was letting his hand with leather glove slide on belt and the lacing caught the glove jerking hand and all under the idler pulley. No injury, but I sure never did that again. I think the reason no one was ever injured around it was it looked so dangerous we were always careful.
