When I was a little kid, (1960’s) my Dad would ask my brothers and I where a tool was, and he never got the answer he wanted. He finally gave up asking us and said “I don’t know why I ask where my tools are, all I have to do is wait for the snow to melt, go out in the yard and pick them up”. He was usually right.

I've lost a few tools like that. Sometimes they reappear in strange ways. Metric 10 and 8 are often used in bleeding brakes and if you do it yourself, you get really hot or cold (depending on weather) Pack all the tools and don't have a stroke. Well damn where is my nice flare nut wrench? Uh Oh. I had a really good thing for unibody cars. It was a special hard rubbery square with grooves to fit the different seams. It was important because the local inspection station just put a floor jack underneath the seam and smuched it. Well, You can't bend back those seam/lips more than a few.
The thing is, it was still stuck on my car when I went to inspection. The seam wasn't smuched but I never got the block back.
Before they got the newer lifts, I'll bet they used my block for awhile.

I had a cordless magnetic based LED light that really worked well, made life a lot easier in those dark places we run into when fixing stuff. For a few weeks now I have looked for it and just could not find it. Last week it dawned on me that I may have last used it on a tractor I was working on, but which one. I gave the obvious choices the once over with no luck. Tonight I started tearing a 1250 CC apart down to the frame. Low and behold I found that puppy stuck up under the fuel tank. Boy was I relieved!!! (Translation - You don't want to know what I paid for that puppy --- it's a Snap-on, bought in one of my more frivolous moments.)
