Not a good way to start the weekend.
Last Friday we were all sitting around the campfire at the Shallow Creek CubFest when the rains came and washed out the fire sending us inside for the night. I thought that was a bad way to start the weekend. That is until tonight.
I just got home about 6:00 pm tonight. Unfortunately, my truck did not come home with me. It ended up in a storage lot at a towing company. I'm okay as is one of the other drivers. The other two drivers were sent to the emergency center to be checked. One driver had some bad cuts around her mouth. One car was stopped, or slowed, maybe to turn, I don't know, when the car behind her failed to stop. The second car slammed the rear of the first car and veered in front of me. It all happened very fast. The impact from my truck sent the second car into the drive of the trailer park where it hit the fourth car. The fourth car had an infant in a car seat. The EMTs were checking him/her out. Not sure if taken to the hospital or not. I have a bit of soreness in my right shoulder where the seat belt went over. I am watching that as well being alert for any headaches. Fortunately, there were no fatalities.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

I do too. Although I have looked at new trucks recently, this one is (was) in great condition and I'd like to keep it. It is a 2013 with 78,000 miles on it. Not even broke in yet. There are no 2019 LTZ 3500 Silverados in the Cincinnati area that I like. Besides this is 14 payments from been mine, all mine, well halve Rosie's.

As my dad always used to say, "they're still makin' them." And that was significant because he wrecked a lot of cars.
We are all so glad you're okay.

Re: Not a good way to start the weekend.
I bet they can fix yours, assuming no frame damage. Doesn't look like it went that deep....And certainly glad you are okay. The residual value on your truck is likely high enough to keep that from being anywhere near a total. I used to be hesitant about wanting any vehicle that had been in a wreck, but have had to accept that it sometimes happens, and most times the vehicle can be repaired correctly. I only worry when the frame is involved. My 2011 Ram got hit in the A pillar so hard that you couldn't turn the key off, and it was on the center side of the steering wheel. The mechanic said every bolt that held the cab on had been shifted, he could see underneath. I didn't accept that one back, he convinced the insurance company that he would never be able to make me happy, and I would plague him every week to adjust it.

Man, that looks like a reflection of Silvey in a different shade! I'm sure glad you were not seriously injured and it was not life threatening for others involved.
