Verzeihen Sie mir,

It is so nice to see language utilized... I wish that more of you were closer.. maybe my German would not be so bad.... after 20 years of not speaking often, I forget much of it.. which makes it difficult when family in Europe finally start emailing.....  :? :!: At least I am starting to get more practice now..

Rudi,

I erinere Mich viele Worten, aber mein Grammer is furchtbar schlecht.

Wann Mann alter bekommt, sprechen bekommt immer moglich.

LOL

For those of you who are concerned about us plotting the 4th Reich, a translation is:

I remember most of the vocabulary, but my grammar is horrible. It is also perhaps twenty years since I have spoken much German. This conversation has been good practice for my memory, however.

As one becomes older, speaking anything becomes more difficult. It is irrelevant whether it is English or German. Naturally, we have more practice with English, and less with German, living in the North American Countries.

Perhaps, if I spoke only German, I would not make so many problems for myself.

If anyone could translate what I wrote they would be laughing. Thanks Tom for not (laughing). I know enough German to get a cup of coffee when I need it.

My oldest son speaks the language fluently mostly because my wife’s family came from Germany and he wants to carry the language and traditions on.
