Sealer for Concrete Floor

Postby Paul_NJ » Sat Sep 02, 2006 6:17 am

Finally had a concrete floor poured in my bank barn! Now, I can move my Cub from it's home alongside the table saw upstairs. I understand sealing the concrete will give it some resistance to oil, dirt, etc. Can anyone recommend a product they are happy with? Thanks

Paul,

I used Thompson's Clear Multi Surface Sealer on my garage floor and I'm very happy with the results. Any time I get an oil drip, Simple Green cleans it right up. About 12 bucks a gallon at Walmart.

Paul, nice pics. I hope you're doing OK. I love those stone walls. Did you pour piers to rest the uprights on? It's first class. Larry

I used an epoxy paint from Menards, the kind with chips that you can throw into it. So its just not that dull gray color. It was $50 for a kit, little expensive, but i woulnt have done anything else in my wood shop. :D John

here is a link to some pictures of the woodshop, notice the floor.

Paul, I would recomend a sealant that is resistant to gas. I used a water based sealant on my floor in my shop made by Thopsons . Had a motorcycle leak some gas the sealant pealed up . Let me recomend that you ask the concrete contractor for a sealant he may be able to get you a contractor discount that is used in industrial application . Also the concrete supplier may be able to recomend a sealant for your application.
