thanks guys, i also forgot to add that this can burn wheat so says my dad :? but it can burn corn, so we should'nt have a short supply of heat stuff...

Richard, we have a whole bunch of ooooold kits that use the 2 drum thing, and we have about 12 barrels, mayb i will look into that for our shed(ifn we ever get it built)

Nik, one word of warnign aobut the barrel stoves. most insurance companies will not insure a residence with one in it. Many will not even insure a work shop unless they are on a concrete floor, and have a fire sestant wall behind them.

I forgot to add (senior moment) mine sits on a concrete floor and about 18'' from cement board walls painted white to reflect the heat. Thanks John for briging up the subect.
Years ago a friend built a house on the beach near Charleston SC I talked him into using a water to air (geothermal) heat pump. He loved it. When my daughter was in Iceland (USN) her place was heated with geothermal. Seems that in Iceland there are many places where the ground temp is quite hot.
