Well Duh!!!!!!

I'm on my second Dewalt 4" angle grinder. The first one gave me several years of good service and fianlly gave up the ghost. I always thought that it would be nice if these things had a trigger lock, just to give your hand a break every now and then. I've been doing some work on Rose stripping all the sheetmetal down to bare metal with my endless supply of wire wheels (Thanks BIL), all the while wishing the grinder had a trigger lock.

Well guess what I just found :!:  :!:  after all these years the Cub elves decided to put a trigger lock on my 2 year old angle grinder while I was sleeping   It's at the bottom end of the grinder near the power cord.
Boy, after 2 of these and about 5 years of using them I feel really stupid

Confession is good for the soul :!:

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

That reminds me of the time my daughter couldn't open one of her rear car doors from teh inside. That modle has a history of the plastic holders for the latch rods breakign, so I got a set, and tore the door apart to discover they were ok. Finally relaized the Kiddy lock was engaged.

There are reasons the womenfolk make fun of us for not reading the instruction manuals................

But what is step one when you get a new tool.....???

Remove instruction manual, and either place it in file drawer, where it becomes lost in "time capsule" along with countless others.....or throw it away completely, out of sense of machismo......

I have several 3-drawer file cabinets stuffed to the max with varying instruction manuals from various appliances, tools, and miscellaneous hardware....... If I ever need something, I simply say to my girlfriend, or Mother........ummm....."I think I have the manual to this somewhere in one of my file cabinets"...and they get this special look on their faces......it's not a pretty look..... it's kinda a cross between "yes master" , "#@#% YOU!!" , and "my boyfriend / son is an idiot"...........

I agree completly the hard part is when you store them in the garage and find little bits and pieces of them in the mice nests.
Or when you have problems and cant find the manual and then 6 weeks later it bites you when you are looking for something else.
The one I like is the cheap tool company that sends you new brushes and you say boy that was thoughtfull this will last a long time but two days or weeks later the switch goes.lol
