I would still get a lawyer that handles WC cases. i went threw it with a torn tendon in my elbow. still bothers me some even after surgery several years ago. You should still be drawing wages while off work . Do they have a light duty job that can accompany your restrictions. You are also intitled to compensation after the surgery . Get with a lawyer that is paid only if case is won or settled.

I hope i never have to go threw WC again with all the depositions and Dr. appointments. Keep good records with dates and anything related to your injury. What you can do before and after the injury. I know it is a big pain but they will ask you more questions than you think is possible. Good Luck

Good luck, Jeff, and do keep us posted. By the way, watch what you do while on WC, those guys lug cameras around just trying to catch you doing something so that they can cut off WC funds :!: . Pete

I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Jeff:

Torn minisci is a pain in the tush.. for sure. I got injured in the military.. both knees were toast.. In 1988 they scoped and performed an arthroscopy and a miniscotomy on my right knee. 6 months later they did the same thing on my left knee.

Here is what happened... prior to the miniscotomies, I really was in a lot of pain, and many days just couldn't walk.. That torn up inside. They did the miniscotomy, and even though it still is not ideal, I can walk most days. Unfortunately I am in the percetage group that developes arthritis. I developed it with in 24 months of the last miniscotomy.. mostly from the kind of work I did... that is life and as we know stuff happens.

But I am thankful that they did it, as even though many days are very painful for me.. I still can walk.. that being the operative word.. walking. As in the words of Joe Walsh : Life's Been Good To Me So Far ! :big smile:

Prayers are there for you.. hope all goes well. You will be dancing again..

of course if you don't dance now.. that won't help much..

Well here the update. Went to the surgen today. He said yep you are getting old. I just gave him a look. You do have a torn cartilage. He's going to clean everything up.
I have my surgery on Oct 24 @ 11:00 in the morning.
I should be back in service in 6 weeks.

Jeff,
Hang in there my friend, you'll get throught this. If we didn't go down in the valley every now and then we would never appreciate the mountain top! I like you have been to the bottom of the valley this week and really look foward to getting back to the mountain top. We'll be praying for you and the up coming knee surgery on th 24th.

Jeff, glad to hear the surgery is scheduled now. Don't worry about it, it's a piece of cake. My 1st knee surgery was done "before" they were able to do the "scope type" surgery. Had a zipper around the knee. When they re-did it later the military did it using the "scope" method, and they even cleaned up my old scars too. You can't even see my old scars now, and that knee is pretty much 100% now.

Must be a "Hoosier B-Ball" thing? Of course, I don't play anymore other than little games with my nephews now, but I too have gotten a little "older" and have learned that my body isn't as young as my heart and mind. think I am

Keep us updated and I've added the date to my calendar as I'll be asking you later how it goes.

Take care my friend,,,,,,,from the "Hoosier now a Buckeye by marriage" !!

Well, I have to admit, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy :D

I also need to come clean that while I "DO" live here now, I root for OSU during football seacon (Indiana never seemed to have a decent football season going for it). But when the B-Ball season starts,,,,,well I'm still a Hoosier at heart, but now that IU kicked Bobby to the curb, I've been know to root for Texas Tech
