Day is done, gone the sun,
From the hills, from the lake,
From the sky.
All is well, safely rest,
God is nigh.
Go to sleep, peaceful sleep,
May the soldier or sailor,
On the land or the deep,
Safe in sleep.
Love, good night, Must thou go,
When the day, And the night
Need thee so?
All is well. Speedeth all
To their rest.
Fades the light; And afar
Goeth day, And the stars
Fare thee well; Day has gone,
Night is on.
Thanks and praise, For our days,
'Neath the sun, Neath the stars,
'Neath the sky,
As we go, This we know,
God is nigh.
FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.
I watched the flag pass by one day.
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,
and then he stood at ease.
I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
He'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil?
How many mothers' tears?
How many pilots' planes shot down?
How many died at sea?
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, freedom isn't free.
I heard the sound of taps one night,
when everything was still
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That taps had meant "Amen,"
When a flag had draped a coffin
Of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.
I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington..
No freedom isn't free.

No matter what happens or how different our beliefs may be from the decisions that are made by our government, my family will always be in support of the men and women who serve our country in the military.
A fate so dark, so unknown.
A place so far away, you went to stand alone.
You left your family and friends behind,
The pain and emotions that run through your mind.
You were not sure you would ever return.
The duty you had, you stood stern.
You left with many hugs goodbye.
Trying so hard not to show fear or cry.
You had to rush life, to grow up fast,
You close your eyes and remember things past.
Many nights you would sit by yourself,
All future plans at home on a shelf.
Wondering day and night what it's worth.
Praying to God not to take you from this Earth.
Looking everyday for a special letter,
Thinking in your mind things have to get better.
You may not realize what you have done,
You fought for freedom and won.
I want you to know I prayed for you,
I cried for you too.
I didn't know you,
But I wanted to say "Thank You"!

Please remember today, the price that our past United States Soldier had to pay.
May God continue to bless the United States of America, its Allies and all who defend her.

I’m really good at doing nothing…With that said…I’m really, really good at doing nothing

to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the
government lest it come to dominate our lives and interests." Patrick Henry
