What has this world come to when a team from Tampa FL can win the Stanley Cup ????

Well I guess there's always curling!

This should have been posted in Way, Way, Way Off Topic but since I can't move it I'll chime in...Next to Racing Hockey is the best sport to watch live and in person and I'm a big fan. That said, Ken do you know just how many American players there are on the Tampa Bay team? I believe you'll find that the majority of players are Canadian.

The NHL is in trouble mostly because Hockey does not fit well with TV. The broadcasters always follow the puck. There is so much going on away from the puck that isn't shown on TV.

Your right Donny it should have been in the other catagory. I was afraid of a misunderstanding with the lack of responses. I meant no harm.
It is sooo hard to be funny in written text.

I just thought it was funny that they even play hockey in FL.
I didn't know they could make that much ice in that hot climate.

Ken,

I knew you were being funny.

It's a good thing they play indoors as making ice in Tampa outdoors would be like a State job...Never Ending :!:

I got a good laugh. :D

Hey Bigdog,

I don't think Ken had any plans to attend the Cubfest Northeast. If he does he may not make it back.

Ken,

You better go undercover. Maybe show up with a jd. On second thought...better not then for sure you wouldn't make it back.

 You don't have to worry about the hockey jab from me Ken, but a JD would certainly get you in trouble!!!! I always got a kick out of southern hockey teams too, just like the Jamaican bob-sled team!

Guys:

I look at it this way. Ifn the US, Russia, Sweden and a host of other countries are now making this a national sport, then I think Canada has really influenced the world of sport  :!: And as some have said, probably 80% of pro hockey players are Canadian. Look at the greats -

Bobby Hull, Bobby Orr, the Mahovolic brothers, Jean Bellieveau, Wayne Gretszky, Mario Lemieux just to name a few.

That would make what :?: Lacrosse, Basketball and Hockey as the three largest sports contributions which were invented in Canada :!: :D

As for the Tampa Bay Lightning winning the Cup, well, that Cup will be home in Canada this summer - it is going to PEI for a few days!
