John - I thought it was pretty cool and wanted one, until I saw the price!

I'd have to wack a lot of gophers and moles to pay for that

I didn't even look at the price, but thought I could get rid of moles and plow the garden at the same time. Reminds me of a guy in Texas that was trying to get rid of gophers in his yard. Found a hole and stuffed a bunch of M80s (illegal firecrackers) in the hole and lit them. Blew the down spout off his gutter. OOPS!

Sounds like the good old Ma Bell MSA explosion meter before entering man holes.
Truely just running your propane tourch (unlit) into the gopher hole for a bit
then step back and throw a lit kitchen match should do the same thing.
Of course I wouldn't run it too long or you wouldnt have to plow the garden.

Next best is if you have a son in Jail.
Seems that the father was disabled and his son dug the garden for dad. One year while the son was in jail, dad wrote that it was a shame he had no one to dig the garden. Son wrote back about a week later that dad shouldn't do any digging because that was where he hid the money and drugs. Couple of days later the FBI showed up dug aroud for days and found nothing. Couple of days later dad gets another letter. Sorry I could not do the garden for you this year but that was the best that I could do under the circumstances.
