Job Change...AND LOCATION CHANGE
Well, some of you may notice that I have been pretty absent from the forum for the past month or so... Well, that is because of some pretty significant life changes...for the positive!
As I noted on the forum back in DECEMBER, after 10 1/2 years at my previous company, I had been interviewing with a new prospective employer. Well...after a lengthy process, I have finally made the transition to my new company and am now their National Sales Manager. This is a definite move forward in my career, and after the way of departure from the previous company, it was very apparent that I made the 100% correct move!
The other big news for my family is that we will be MOVING!! This new company's position is based out of a "field office" anywhere in the country. Since my family and I are both from Pittsburgh, PA, I discussed this location with the company, and they were more than OK with this move. SO... after the kids are done with school in June, we will be making the long trek to Pittsburgh to be back closer to our families. The kids are actually excited about the change, but nervous as can be expected. We have a place ready to go in Pittsburgh, but still have to list our house in La Crosse to get sold. So, I guess I am going to have to change my name on the Forum YET AGAIN... I started out as WisconsinCubMan, and now am MikeInWisconsin. I guess I should start a thread to determine my new user name now, too!
I am really excited to make this next step in my career in the food industry and am already hitting the ground running. Having been out of the job market for at least 10 years, I had forgotten about how long it would take to actually make the transition between companies... it was certainly a long process!!

Mike,
Welcome to the neighborhood!!! I guess it is the neighborhood, I attended an auction in Harmony last Saturday. You are going to be nearer the center of the Cub Universe.
Good luck with your new job.

Wow, I thought I knew what was going down after we spoke a month ago. Things change, don't they? I thought you were going to be relocating to the REAL center of the Cub universe, but since you have forsaken the Wapakoneta, OH location, that will leave more here for the rest of us. Seriously though, the way you described the job and the company to me, in the back of my mind I felt there was a possibility you might have your choice of locations and if so, it would be back to PA. Can't blame you one bit. Good luck and we'll be looking for you at the Tug.

Mike,
Congratulations on everything, you'll be missed here in the midwest, but the easterners can't wait for you to move home.

Re: Job Change...AND LOCATION CHANGE
Congrats, Mike. New challenges for a young man is a life refreshing event. Unfortunately, as we get older, we seem to choose the "set in our ways" and stay with the tried and truly tested. Best of luck and hope you can make enough free time for the cub fun.
