I went out to clean up an old wood pile by the barn today while Rosie was busy watering her flowers. As I grabbed the old boards and threw them on the trailer I started seeing signs of the old sneaky snakes. The first one I laid eyes on got the old shovel across the head. So did the next four that wandered out from under the pile. I know I will hear from the snake lovers but you'll be wasting your time. If they show up here, I give them the business. Besides, If I don't get rid of them before Rosie sees them, she'll be doing more than wetting her plants.

I'm with you, Bill. Not enough room for me & the snake in the same yard.. (Barn lot, woods, field, fence row, etc.) hehe

Snakes eat mice, which do you want?
Remove the food, Remove the problem.

Okay guys, I guess this didn't work as I had planned. The snakes don't bother me since they usually slither the other way so I leave them alone (that doesn't mean I like them. I was trying to get attention with the "wetting her
plants" comment, but I see that was missed.

It is very simple: If you lack shoulders, and you either surprise me or come into the yard, you die. The only possible exception is a king snake, since it eats other snakes, and maybe a black snake. I will kill a chicken snake, and anything that looks like it has ever even thought about being venomous, with no exceptions. Chicken snakes do eat rats and mice but it will also kill young poultry and eat eggs. Besides, I got cats for the rodents.....

Ya know when I read your snake story, I said to myself "Self, why's he telling us what Rosie's doing?" Then I missed the "typo". Looks like Bill got us again.

I saw the comment and figured if Rosie saw it the snakes wouldn't be the only thing "getting the old shovel across the head".

It wasn't missed. I spit coffee all over my desk when I read that.
