Gray Cub said it took 50 workers 20 days to build this car. If you've ever purchased Legos my guess it would be valued at about a half dozen real cars.

Lego FordWe had the pleasure of taking Gray Cub to Legoland in Florida a few weeks ago and I thought everyone might enjoy seeing a few pictures of this full size Ford. There were all types of items all made of Legos every where you looked from big cities to small animals. He looks small beside the car but he's now 5'+

Re: Lego FordMy kids all had Duplo and Lego as younguns ... it was amazing the things that they could create. Getting to play with Lego all day has to be fun. We have always wanted to visit the original LegoLand in Denmark. These things are simply amazing.

Tinker Toys I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Rudi - Tinker Toys. Growing up my brother and I would get Legos sent to us from Denmark by our great aunt. They only came in Red, White, and Blue and didn't have any instructions with them. Sure wish we still had them. Peter
Re: Lego FordThanks guys. I spent a little while searching for them ... how come I couldn't remember Tinker Toys. Unc had those as well, and Grams bought me and my twin each a set growing up. I remember a put together toy my Oma sent us from Germany but for the life of me I can't remember what it was or what it was called. Construction type toys were always my favourite

Re: Lego FordI had a Meccano set at my grand mothers overseas. Those we're all the rage in the '60's. Never saw them in the U.S.
Yogie, did you guys get to fly?
Re: Lego FordMine is long gone. We were pretty hard up when I was young, but had neighbors and friends that had it worse than us and when I got older much of my stuff was passed on to them. I sure enjoyed that set though, and when I got an electrical set to go with it. The electrical set was a kit with batteries, wires, lights motor, and other accessories. I used it to put lights and motor on my erector set projects. Even built a mobile crane with work lights on the boom. "The Constitution is not an instrument for the government

Re: Lego FordThat is pretty impressive Yogie, I bet you are right about the price of the Legos. They are a great toy, encourages creativity in kids.
Tinker Toys and Lincoln Logs were made by a company called C.B. Cummings in Maine. Pretty sure both were out of birch. When the liquidated the company they had the machines to make them listed in the auction. Penly made awesome clothes pins (and toothpicks) but the name is on Chineese made products now..... I can tell you they are nowhere as good as the old ones I am still using. http://matr.net/print-6077.html 1971 Cub (Rufus) 1950 Cub (Cathy) 1965 Lo Boy Fast Hitch (Nameless III) 1970 Cub 1000 Loader & Fast Hitch (Lee)
Re: Lego FordEthan has Lincoln Logs, plastic roofs and all. He uses the wooden parts for "fill"for his German garbage truck, LOL. They just aren't the same. Logs, Tinkertoys, Erector Sets and Tootsie toys, Tonka and Structo, that's what I grew up with.
