Eye See Now!

Went this morning to have the new eye lens inserted. Eye need to buy stock in eye drops. Eye was scheduled for surgery at 9:00 but eye had to get there at 7:30. The early arrival was probably due to the fact they have to put drops in your eye every five minutes or so. There were numbing drops, cleansing drops, anti-infection drops, everything but gum drops. When it was time to cut, the doctor made a small incision and blasted my old lens into pieces and sucked it out. Then he inserted a new lens that was folded in half through the cut and unfolded it. That part only took about ten minutes. Then it was on to the recovery room so the anesthesia could wear off a bit and the nurse could add more drops. Eye am feeling fine and can see pretty good out of the rejuvenated eye. There is some blurred vision in the eye right now but that should clear up in a day or two. At least eye can see a whole lot better. Eye can't play with the Cubs or drive today and my computer use is limited so the eye can rest, but all indications are that eye will be pretty much able to resume normal things by tomorrow.

Eye used to blame my spelling on not being able to see my words.

Rudi, I went with the standard lens that had the prescription built in. I will still need off the shelf reading glasses for close up work. Bi-focals were an option but I understand that if you are driving they tend to give you some problems, especially at night, because the eyes are constantly adjusting for distance watching the road and close up for gauges and mirrors, etc. The doctor advised me to go with standard. Besides, my insurance would not pay for the bi-focals.

I still can't see through walls, but I am getting better at seeing what is on some people's mind.

Well here it is, a little after 9:00 pm and the surgoen just called to ask how I was doing. What a great guy! Maybe he just wants to pad the bill, I don't know, but it was nice of him.

I don't/didn't have any of those issues with the multi-focals. I found the cataracts much more debilitating. Mine were covered, not sure why but they were.. made me happy. Glad to have them, no longer need glasses to read. Course now eye read singularly, but I am still pretty pleased. Nighttime driving is getting much better as I get used to the change in depth perception.

Glad that the procedure when well and you still have your sense of humour.

It is good to hear you got through all that without any side eyeffects. Prescription lens, what will be next?
