There was a night time Christmas parade in a neighboring town last night. I frequently drive in the parades in this town, the people are very friendly, every one waves, etc. There were a 3 year old, 6 year old, and an 8 year old all riding in my lighted trailer along with a parent. Knowing how long the waiht always is to get started in this parade, the long rout it takes, etc. I had some glow sticks laying in the shop and I took one for each of the kids to give them something to do during the wait and parade. All went well, the people were friendly, etc. but sometime during the parade a man ran out of the crowd and grabbed the glow stick out of the 6 year old's hand and gave it to a little girl that was with him. Those that have driven in parades where there were large crowds know that between watching the children on each side as you pass by, the spacing between you and the next unit, etc. you are pretty busy and do not get to keep a very close eye on your trailer, especially at night. I did not find out about the incident until the end of the parade when the parent that was riding with the children told me, which is probably just as well. Had I seen it happen I would probably have stopped right in the middle of the parade and we would have had an altercation right there. I did have one extra glow stick that I gave the boy to take home with him and replace the one that was taken.

John-You can please most of the liberals on the parade route by "re-distributing the wealth" (yours that is)and giving out glowsticks to everyone!

I'll try to be more careful not to offend anyone--maybe in my next life.

My grand father McCourt always mentioned the unevenness of having more of one end of the horse than the other!
