2012 Princeton WV Christmas Parade

Thought I'd share a few pictures with ya'll of my '51 "M" in our local parade. I didn't take any myself, but have seen a pile of pics of it pop up in local media. I was following one late styled JD "B", one early styled JD "B" and one Super 77 Oliver, all from the local tractor pull club. Not all of there's are restored, and none of them have lights. Just seems to be something about a red tractor that the crowd loves. My Dad and Mom brought my 90 year old grandmother and let her sit in the car and watch me drive by, her and all the little kids made it worthwhile...

My now retired kindergarten teacher took this one of me coming through town. She's always at every parade, I'm always sure to watch for her as she calls out to me. My class was her first back in '72...she retired last year.

The local paper always "catches" me doing what they call "tractor doughnuts" at the main intersection in downtown. It's wide right there, so in every parade at Christmas or Veterans Day I always spin her around on one wheel a couple times...the crowd goes nuts.

Some of us do that in our local parades when driving the narrow fronts, but a lot of the time the crowds are so far out in the street it is not safe and we have to skip the maneuver. When I have the saw frame on the front of the H I usually do not do it, the frame sticks out too far.

Seems like spinning that buzz saw might be an effective way to get the crowds to step back just a bit.

Nothing like a shiney red tractor in a Christmas parade, especially at night. :tractor: :{_}:

Certain parts of town at certain times the cutoff saw may not be a bad line of defense :)

Always loved seeing that Farmall in Christmas Story...when my wifes community theatre group down that play last winter I complained because they didn't do that scene...I thought it was a good idea, since I had the tractor that was a shoe-in to get the starring role in that scene, hahaha!

The donuts are kinda hard on the front tires though...my back ones are so hard and stiff they don't matter though. Wet pavement that night helped...
