Guess I gotta get the snow rig out tomorrow

Had a forecast of light freezing rain with possible flurries this afternoon. Started snowing serious about 2:30. at 10 we had 6 inches of very heavy wet snow. This is my front yard, and the pines in these pictures are trimmed high enough that I can normally drive under them with the ZTR, and they clear the exhaust and steering on the cub.

John, Better move north. I had the cadet out yesterday for the first snow this season for maybe two inches over two days. The cadet is actually faster than the cub. The drive is steep and I can only plow going downhill but with the cadet I can blow snow both directions. Maybe you better stay in MO. This may turn out to be the year we actually get snow. Vern

John, you got what missed us. We got about an inch and it disappeared as the sun hit it today. Take care.

Was hoping for some clear sky this morning, but no such luck, still real fine snow falling, and everything was hazy. Here is a daytime picture of trees I photographed last night.

You guys can keep the cold and snow….. After I leave this snow H%!!.... I’m going where it’s warm, get a tractor with a metal seat, let it sit out in the sun for a period of time, put my swimming trunks on…. sit on the seat until I break out into a sweat. Then I’m going swimming to cool off and when I get cooled off …. repeat step one.

We went to town to stock up yesterday and this was the scenery.

We got 6 to 7 inches of the 6to 12, that was forecast, yesterday, and into the night. 40 mph wind never materialized. Need to create some parking space, fora family party, today. Ed

Jack:

That is a really nice picture :!: Both the road and the house :D I love winter. Yeah it is cold, it can get right into your bones .. but man, nothing like snow at Christmas and right up to April. I lived in Southern California for almost 3 years -- 80 degree temps get real old real fast for me. I actually like the 4 seasons. And I don't catalogue seasons by varying shades of brown    Yeah, there is something to be said for warmth but it isn't for me. Temps above 80F are very hard on me so I really would not move ever to a warmer climate. However, nothing says you can't go south for a week or two mid-winter to recharge

Not sure about the question, but this picture was taken at night with the flash on my old Sony digital.

and this one of the same trees, though from a different angle the next morning. Unfortunately the wind had come up and blown some of the snow off in the early morning hours. Was hoping for some bright sun and blue skies for the pictures, but no such luck.

John, you say you photographed the trees last NIGHT but it is a DAYTIME picture.

Try the caption "here is a better picture taken this morning in the daytime of the same trees I took the previous picture of and posted last night"

Thanks for catching that! I missed it and I have to keep John in line for my cousin and his old English teacher! She passed away a few years ago, partially from frustration

Right now I think what I need is a year or two recharge at 80F and better.
