We have a Harbor Freight locally, I have gone there to see the equipment and prices at first glance its a rush :{_}: wow I can get this this and this for just a fraction of what quality cost , then it wears of and I realize that I am in a store that has an inventory of nothing but cheap equipment, good for the weekend guy but you get what you paid for and quality aint what you paid for :|

Never saw that. Very funny. Pages would make a great poster for the shop I couldn't stop laughing

We shop H F frequently. We like items like the lock nut and cotter pin kits , some HVLP paint guns , zip ties etc that are very nice bargains if you watch the sales flyers and coupons. The paint guns i use are 19.99 on sale but are 50.00 at lowes for the same exact gun for an example.

Bingo :!:

Any idea how many pots I have for my guns? I must have 3 dozen or more. Each of them in the $40.00 to $75.00 range at a good automotive or industrial finishes supplier -- btdt for too many years. Now the exact same pot is usually on sale at Princess for $9.99 ... :big give up: ..

My new Makita we bought at Home Depot -- best price in town .. but still overpriced.

Harbor Freight sells junk, pure and simple. don't ever buy any impact tools like punches, chisels, etc. they will chip off and put out an eye.

They sell safety goggles and face shields  :D

Seriously, you have to watch what you buy just like anywhere else. Some things are worthless and some are better quality. I even have found (and bought) made in the USA items there. The old addage "You get what you pay for" certainly applies.

I go there once a month mostly to get small items. I have 3 engines from Harbor freight and all have done well. The oldest is 8 years old and was used as a replacement engine on a F-cub for several years. The newest is a few weeks old as a replacement on a roof mower. like anywhere else there are good and some not so good products. Pick and choose to fit your requirements and budget.

You may get what you pay for but sometimes you pay more but don't get more. If the same product is at HF and elsewhere, then I go to the lowest price store. I have returned a few tools and was able to get another without problems.

Their 20% coupons have been un-usable on alot of their higher priced items (welders, generators etc) for quite some time now.....You have to read the fine print on the coupon....And its really fine...Most Everything is made out of country today and China owns us anyways....So I guess we may as well shop their, eh Hop Sing.......
