We Are Back

Postby Rudi » Mon May 30, 2005 5:01 pm

Well we got back from Ottawa. Quite a bit early, but unfortunately we had to return home. I guess I was not well enough for the trip from the last bout, and it just got too stressful for me. Em and I decided that we had to come back early. Mom understands so that is ok.

Mom said to make sure I said a big thank you and let you know how much she appreciated the prayers and good wishes. She was amazed at how so many people she doesn't even know were worried about her and the outcome of the upcoming operation. She was totally blown away. I just told her that, these are the kind of people who I chat with on a daily basis. Just good folks who know how to make and be with friends and how to appreciate all the blessings that God has given us.

Mom had the by-pass surgery at 1:30pm approx EST this past Thursday. She is doing well and was up on Friday and walked 21 meters - approx 60 feet there abouts. It has been a steady progression daily and she is progressing well. She will be going home on Wednesday as it is up until today. Unless something changes for the worst, it isn't likely to change. The Ottawa Heart Institute is the premier facility in Canada and that is all they do - hearts and they are very, very good at it. She is in good hands.

I talked to her yesterday, and she sounded 20 years younger! Amazing as far as I am concerned.

Oh, we saw her in recovery after the surgery and I got an eye opener. Being the one on the table I think btw is a lot easier than being one of the waiters outside, waiting to hear from the doctors. That was the longest 6 hours of my life..... I also got to see roughly what the setup around me was like during my surgery. Impressive and scary all at the same time.

Anyways, we are now home and I guess it is time to do some catching up. I get a delivery tomorrow morning. Will expand on it in a different thread.

Thanks guys for all your prayers and wishes. You all have been just like family to me and mine and we truly are grateful from the bottom of our hearts. May God Bless each and every one of you and you families as well.

Cheers

Rudi, it's good to see you're home safe and to hear that mom is doing well. We'll pray that it continues well for both of you.

Glad to hear your Mom is doing well, but sorry you weren't as much up to the trip as you thought.

As a side note, your mower is laying on my trailer waiting to head for Cubfest.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Bill:

Glad you got a chuckle :D . I will say this, it sure was an awakening. But, as Em said about me, the same could be said about Mom. After the surgery, she looked real nice and pink - you could tell instantly that the docs did it right on :!: We are so very glad that the Lord took care of her so well :!: :D :D :D

BD:

Thanks, we are praying constantly ourselves. You know, a little prayer goes a looooong way :!: :D

John:

Thanks also. Mom is really amazed by everybody.. blown away is a better description.

As for the deck, many many thanks as well. I am looking forward to next winter's project :!: :D :D

Rudi, I'm so glad that things are going so well for your mom. It is obvious that you and she share the same strength of will and strength of character. And I'm glad that Em is looking after you! :D

Is the delivery green? 8)

Glad to hear your mom is doing well. Sounds like you did the right thing by coming home early. Gotta be sure to care for your self too.
