Family Budget

Postby Eugene » Sun Dec 15, 2013 7:13 pm

Reading FarmallCub.com, wife comes in and asks " How much money do you have?" Checked, $23- in wallet and my emergency stash, $100- in the can on the desk.

Not wanting to leave me totally without funds, wife let me keep the $23-.
I have an excuse. CRS.

I still haven't purchased wife's Christmas gift. Plan was to use part of the $100- to purchase a dozen roses from local florist for delivery in the afternoon of the 24th.

Just checked wallet, still have the credit card. Plan is still a go.

Wife goes to the bank and picks up $200- for pocket change. She replenished my stash. Went to local florist and spent $67- cash from my allowance on roses, vase, and delivery charge. So I'm $10- richer than I was after she took my emergency funds.

Credit card charges. Wife goes over every credit card bill and matches up the charges with the receipts.

Don't you just love it when the wife comes home talking about how much money she saved you on sales? The bank says 200 is gone but she saved you 600.

The only way you save money on a sale is if you were going to buy it anyway. Just because the store says it is on sale does not mean it is a saving, especially if you do not need it.

Being retired the wife always asks if I want to go to the grocery store. I always go, someone has to push the grocery cart.

If you have been following the math in this topic, it doesn't work out. Before the wife replenished the $100- stash, we were in the grocery store. Me sacking the groceries because the sacking folks were busy elsewhere. Bill rings up, me busy sacking groceries, wife says something. Ask her "what?". Wife asks how much money I have on me. $23- in the wallet, burned into my memory, $23-. Handed over the remainder of "HER FUNDS". She paid the bill and returned a couple of bucks.

Apparently my wife likes me to go to the grocery store with her because I usually pay for the purchases from my wallet. Recently she wanted to stop at the store and I asked her if she wanted me to go in with her. She said, "sure, you might see something you like." I said, "if I do, can I ask her her name?" I stayed in the car.

We went back to the grocery store today and she told me to go in and select what I wanted for my meal tonight. So I asked if she was telling me again to see if there was something I liked. She said that she did not mean with two legs. So I told her that chicken for supper was out.

That's like the guy who wanted his money put in his casket to take with him. When he died. He had $100,000 in the bank when he died. At his funeral his sister asked his wife. Did you put his money in his casket. She said yes! I wrote a check and put in his casket.
