We live in a fairly open area, and I could not get an accurate measurement due to the drifting, some places the grass was bare, others it was nearly knee deep. I checked with some neighbors who live in places with trees around, etc. so they had little drifting. Average for yesterdays snow was 10 inches. Low temp. last night was -9F, and high supposed to be -1F. I think I need to clean my basement workbench. Main reason for that, it is right beside the wood stove I use for supplemental heat or power failures.

WOW…Beautiful view !!!

Oh …. I noticed two Jet condensation trails in the sky on the first picture. I hear BIG DOG maybe getting out and about again….keep those tractors locked up…..

Thanks, that view is from my back door. I see that anytime I look out my kitchen or dining room windows. I can see that scenery extending over a mile to the left, and nearly as far to the right and the top of those hills are nearly 2 miles away. One of the reasons I built here. The condensation trails are actually the sun reflecting off the power lines coming to my house. If Big Dog is in them, there is no way I can stop him unless I go off the grid.

It looks like you should have some ski slopes coming out of those hills.
I see the power lines now….it doesn’t take too much for me to have optical illusions’ now days.

Don't let John fool you guys with the view, I used to live in that exact spot years ago and its gotta have a great view to make up for how darn cold that hilltop is.

Several years ago, on the Saturday before Christmas, I was in the barn getting a Cub ready to plow about four or five inches of snow from our driveway when I saw my neighbor go by with his truck and plow. A minute later I heard the distinct sound of a plow meeting asphalt in my drive way. I ran from the barn but it was too late. He had entered one end of my drive and went out the other. By time I got there he had already snagged the two power cords I had laid across the drive for my Christmas display and was on his way down the road. He had no idea that he pulled down several thousand lights and some displays, doing several hundred dollars in damage, before the cords finally cut in half. Since it was the weekend before Christmas and a popular time to go looking at lights I stopped what I was doing to make repairs to prepare for that nights visitors (many people drive through our driveway to take in the site of everything). It took almost five hours to get everything back to looking close to what it was and I was still working on it after dark.

I wasn’t happy about it, but the guy was only trying to be neighborly and didn’t know the lines were there. Fearing he may come back again another snowy day, I went to his house later, thanked him and politely told him that I would take care of my drive in the future .

we got about a half inch of snow last night so i decided to experiment with the panorama setting of my new camera. Sorry if these are not the best pictures, but it was 15 degrees and about a 15mph wind blowing, so i did not take very long trying to get it right.
