What kind of hawk is this....

A pair of breeding hawks moved into a big tree just outside our place and raised two babies. It is amazing how much noise they make right at sunrise. It's like having roosters around. The young ones are still spending a lot of time down on the ground but seem to be making it OK. They have been a lot of fun to watch and I miss them when they are not around. The male hawk was over a foot tall and both parents have red breasts. The juveniles still have brown spots on their breasts.

I have never seen one lay down on a branch like a chicken before.
