Need Help With the Wall

Postby Arizona Mike » Wed Aug 10, 2005 9:48 pm

Started Monday, glad it rained today  this is some real fun.

A friend dug the footing for the wall last week with his backhoe. Then i have been cleaning that up and finally got started on the wall. I only have about 400' to go. Anyone want to come and help a fellow cubber

Too far away. But one thing to remember is big flat ones on the bottom.

Don't let my wife find out....she'll make me go to AZ to help with the wall while she goes sightseeing. Which isn't a bad idea, but my kitchen/dining room/partial house remodel/nightmare ain't gonna fix it self. Notice...notice...I need notice on these things.

Mike,
Makes my back hurt just looking at it

It looks like it will be a beautiful addition to the already great looking grassy area you posted about in a earlier thread. Be sure to post some after photos.

I washed her and greased her and painted her red

Mike, I didn't think Arizona makes prisoners work a rock pile any more! How did you get the chain off your ankle to take that picture?

Mike:

That is really going to be a great wall -- stone walls are awesome things of beauty. The work that is involved in one is astounding, and anyone who builds one, must really be proud of their property. Has to be - to put that much effort into something requires a lot of TLC..

Way to go. Will be looking forward to more pics..

Hope you got help. :D

Mike:

Great looking wall, good progress. Looks like you are going to be short on quality rocks. Have I a deal for you. I have a surplus of geunine Ozark rocks and am willing to sell them at a reduced price.

Thanks guys, its work but I go slowly.

Have been building walls around here for about 8 yr. now. Have used up all the good faced rock that was here...and there was plenty. These are salt river rock that I had delivered. Lost my enthusiasm for gathering up rocks a few years ago :D

Mike:

Spent the afternoon thinking about you and your rock wall. I was picking up rocks big enough to be hit by the mower. The drought killed off the grass and exposed the rocks.

I kept telling myself, sure wish Mike was here, he sure could use these flat rocks for his wall, sure wish Mike was here to pick up the really big rocks.

Ain't fair, some people got rocks and some people buy rocks. Go figure.

Eugene
