Cool, but it looks like the money spent on that project would have been better spent on his house and barn....

Or shoes, trike operator has not shoes.ricky racer wrote:Cool, but it looks like the money spent on that project would have been better spent on his house and barn....
My question. What is the owner/builder going to use the machine for? Opinion. If you are going to spend your time and money building something, it should have a useful purpose.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Why? Many of us on here spend time and money on our Cub's and don't use them for there intended purpose (farming). So by your statement we shouldn't!
The way I look at it, the fact that it was built serves a useful purpose. It shows the skills or helps the individual who builds such things to learn different skills, also in doing so may help to inspire others.

Re: Crazy Farmer Builds Tractor Trike
Many years ago when we were first married my wife would by "things" that just sat on a shelf and to me had no purpose. I was always asking her "what does it do?" I thought everything had to do something or it was useless. After about a year of my asking this question one day she replied "It makes me happy" and I had no argument with that answer. It has now been over 45 years since I asked her that question about what I perceive to be useless purchases and she is still happy probably just like the Trike owner is happy.

Re: Crazy Farmer Builds Tractor Trike
OH, contrar! I could pose a lengthy argument. While I am no longer "farming" in the traditional sense, I use my Cubs as mower tractors and for light trailer work. Some folks use their Cubs as trailer queens and as a hobby. All useful endeavors.birddog wrote:Why? I'm not opposed to spending time and some dollars on useful activities, if you and your family can afford it.
I do not see a purpose for the tricycle tractor other than building it because he could. As stated earlier in this topic, appears the builder should spend time and money on his house and barn or buy shoes.

Clownfish; Such things are exactly what I was getting at. Almost everything has a purpose to someone.
