Getting ready for winter

Postby Eugene » Wed Sep 21, 2016 8:52 pm

Installed Sta-Bil in the farm tractors today and 10 KW gen set. Have a couple more machines to winterize. Still need to charge up the Bob Cat's battery and start the Bob Cat. Need to shuffle the generator sets to and from son's house to acreage. Need to start up the Case 1816 skid steer and move to front of garage. Case skid steer has a front snow blade mounted, used to clear son's drive way/parking.

Fill up the generator sets and have 15 gallons of gasoline on hand. Have plenty of fire wood in case it's a really bad winter.

Next step is to inventory the deep freezers. Currently thinking we need to order 1/2 a beef.

Yes, I know it's only mid September. Farmer's Almanac is predicting a heavy snow this winter.

Got Ramen noodles, dried beef, canned soup, hamburger, and canned vegetables in the pantry and freezer, just in case.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Starting to baton down the hatches here to. Looking like one more mow before I hit the stabil. Got the snow plow for the cub, problem is it's not ready! Time to get the snow blower out and ready.

For some reason I think we are going to get a lot of snow.
