Canada Planter???
Most of my planter parts have th IH logo on them. However, one group of parts do not have the logo and the part numbers are not listed in the Cub Implement Parts Catalog. The only identifying mark I can find is the word "Canada" on one of the larger pieces. Does anyone know if that could be the name of a company which made planters? I tried "Canada Planter" in a Google search and got several hits on window-box flower planters but nothing on farm implements. Thanks, Dan

A lot of IH implements were made in Canada, that is why Canada is on them.
Can you post a pic?
That would be a help. As far as I know, there is no company called Canada Planter... the major ag companies became Massey-Harris and then Massey Ferguson which ended up woth the Cockshutt brands and a couple other orphans and of course IH. Case had a company here as well and I think maybe even JD did,

Well, Rudi, I am wrong. Happens more often now than it did when I was younger. I did some additional cleaning to get it ready for a picture and discovered the IH logo under the rust. So it is an IH planter made in Canada. I still have one problem. It has the following part number: 625 012 R1. I am using CBI-1A McCormick Parts Catalog for Farm Implements for use with Farmall Cub Tractor. The part number above is not listed. Their numbers jump from 622 492 R1 to 650 132 R1. I am guessing that the planter was for some tractor other than a Cub. Your thoughts? Dan

I broke the hinge piece for my Sickle bar cutter and Bouht a replacement from TM. Tom had 3 or 4 at the time one of which was marked Canada. At the time Rudi was telling about all the problems importing parts into Canada so I took one of the other ones on the chance one of our Canadian friends needed a part.

You should have taken the one with Canada on it.
Unlike the US where re-importing goods manufactured in the US or even part of it in the US means duty is waived, not so here.
If I sold you a part and sent it to you, you kept it for 2 weeks. 2 months, or 2 years, and then sold it back to me, legally I would have to declare it and pay import duty on it...
Don't ask... sometimes stuff here makes no sense whatsoever... some of our bureaucrats need to get a brain.... or a life, not sure which, maybe both...
