Family Farm & Home Store

Postby Bill Hudson » Sun Mar 26, 2017 6:51 pm

We are to soon get a Family Farm and Home store. Is this another version of Tractor Supply? Looks like Michigan is covered with them.

Bill, I here they are like TSC, more on the Family and Home side than they are on the Farm. We have one opening soon very near our TSC. Might be a little interesting. I would rather see Rural King, but I will wait to pass judgement on the new store after I get to visit.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

This one will be right across the road from a TSC that opened less than three years ago.

I hit my local FF&H just about every week. They are a lot like Tractor Supply.

A Big R store recently opened in Lima, OH. My wife stopped in there last week-end and said that she felt like she was walking into our near-by Rural King. I need to find an excuse to go check it out! I'm not familiar with Family Farm & Home.

I think they are the survivor of what used to be Farm & Fleet. We used to have a Farm & Fleet in Piqua years ago. It was my go to store back then as TSC was not nearly as close (Lima). We used to go up to Coldwater, Michigan for a week each summer and their Farm & Fleet morphed into a Family Farm & Home 15-20 years ago. Piqua now has a Family Farm & Home and it seems identical. They do have a little room off to the side of the store where they stock a little hay and straw in small bales for the horse and goat people.

Yes, Quality Farm and Fleet out of Muskegon, MI went under back in 2001. TSC bought up a bunch of their closed stores. Family Farm & Home was started by a former president of Quality Farm and Fleet. http://www.heraldpalladium.com/localnews/new-life-for-closed-stores-in-sw-michigan/article_0d483e13-f78b-5b12-9f43-57a7a101f714.html

The Family Farm & Home in my hometown was a Quality Farm & Fleet in the late 1980's, then became a Fisher's Big Wheel for a few years, then Pamida for about 12 years, and now Family Farm & Home.
