Need an alternator cooling fan for my 1.5 KW Homelite gen set. Homelite and other parts suppliers do not recognize the alternator's part number. Perhaps have found an aluminum fan that may fit. Old plastic cooling fan fell apart.
Kohler CH25S engine, need a carburetor kit for the $2000- engine, trailer mounted 10KW gen set. Carb kit is currently out of production, nation wide. If the carb kit does not become available, probably can purchase a carburetor at 4 1/2 times the price of the carb kit.
That's my gripe for the day. Manufacturers not supporting their equipment.

Here's a carb kit for a CH25 Kohler says in stock. Not sure it's exactly what you need but it's a quick internet search.

Re: Really ticks me off
That's the kit. Other sources list them as available. But, that price is 150% over other sources. The carburetor lists for $141- and way up.
I priced the carburetor kit from Federated Auto Parts, which uses the same parts source as NAPA. NAPA listed that kit as available, but since both Federated and NAPA use the same warehouse, if it's not available at Federated, not available at NAPA. Federated Auto Parts is considerably less expensive than NAPA.
Just waiting to see if the kit becomes available at Federated Auto Parts. If not, I'll purchase the carburetor.
I've ran into this problem many times with battery powered tools and other engines.
Just my gripe of the day. Tomorrow, a different gripe.

Re: Really ticks me off
Yup. Been through quite a number of internet sites selling the carb kit. The McDonald carb kit is about $20- higher than Federated Auto Supply, when and if the kit is available.
Next thing is that I have a problem seeing how that kit should be $41- or $60 plus dollars. 7 "O" rings, needle valve, and an odd shaped gasket.
My middle name is cheap. Few year back I purchased one of the tiny "O" rings for the carb from the local New Holland dealer for 75 cents.

Just to throw the Amazon.com offering into the mix: https://www.amazon.com/Kohler-24-757-03-S-Carburetor/dp/B000P7QP2U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1500579331&sr=8-1&keywords=24+757+03-S

Re: Really ticks me off
Thanks. I have 3 different printouts of the lowest priced carb kits as well as the replacement carburetor printed out. Same carb kit from Ebay, couple of days ago, was $3.00 cheaper.
I can afford to wait. I don't need the 10 KW gen set right now, having two smaller KW gen sets to operate the shop and for emergency house power. I use the 10 KW gen set to power my stick welder.
