Bacon, 5 lb boxs

Postby Eugene » Wed Aug 02, 2017 9:11 pm

Grocery store had 5 lb. boxes of bacon "ends" for just over $1.00 a lb. Thinking that if it turns out be all fat, well at least I would have some bacon grease.

Turns out that the bacon is miss shaped, odds and ends pieces, that wouldn't fit in the neat package in the grocery store cooler. Fat percentage is about what you would find with packaged bacon.

Froze about 4 lbs., put 1 lb. in the refrigerator cooler. Cooked up potatoes, onions, bacon, for supper.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Several years ago whne I was in my early teens that was a common item in stores around here. We used to get it every now and then.

Hey folks. I'm on John's side. The older your get, the quicker the short term memory fades, and the more your baggy parts droop.

At 1/5th the price of packaged strip bacon, thinking about purchasing another 5 lb. box of bacon. Can vacuum seal and freeze. Have to think this one over. Last time I made12 lbs. of Canadian bacon, I gave most of it away. Still have some in the refrigerator.

Well, as a Warrant Officer in the US Army, a new hire civilian was telling me and the LTC. in the adjacent desk, about all of the military training he was promised to be provided. The new hire said that he was promised during the interview that he would experience the gas chamber. So, I made a few phone calls to set up the new hire for his gas chamber experience.

The LTC then told the new hire civilian not to "$$%%$$' with the more experienced military personnel, because he would get exactly what he asked for.
