So Long, Mom; I love you.

Postby Corky's Cub » Fri Nov 09, 2007 10:12 am

Last night my mother died peacefully in her sleep. She was 85, and was surrounded by three generations of women in our family.

Mom taught me alot in my lifetime.

She taught me when to smile, and when not to.
She taught me why men don't cry, and when it's okay to.

She taught me to work, and why work is a virtue.
She taught me to stick to it, and to never give up.

She taught my twin brother and I how to get along
by giving us boxing gloves, and the ability to laugh.

She taught me how to drive, by making me drive figure 8's
...in reverse; standard shift, changing tires, and fixing stuff.

She taught me how to drink a beer, and when to stop.
And she had my big brother, to enforce the right steps.

We all stuck together, my brothers and sister and mom,
and got an awful lot done...

..my brothers and sister and me...no Dad, just Mom.

Rest in Peace Mom, your work is done.

Corky/Charles
I found this old Cub, Forgotten and Forlorn,
With pistons and valves frozen and worn.
Help from my buddies on Farmallcub.com,
And an engine from Ralph, (37’s the one),
Now ole Corky is running and back to life,
Much to the surprise of my dear, dear wife!

Corky,

I'm sorry for your loss... Your mother sounds like a great lady.

My mother has been gone for 44 years but she taught me two things.

1. Put on enough clothes when it's cold out. (some day you'll have them)

2. Come in out of the rain!

Charles: Your mother must have been a very special lady. I know that the loss leaves a real hole in your family but she will live on if you and your siblings teach your children what she has taught each of you. Dan

Charles. I'm sure you'll miss your mother an awful lot. She had to be the greatest person in you life. Our prayers are with you.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.
