I have talked with Brian today, his daughter, Cali, who was due on 9/11/08, came into the world a month early. As a premature baby, she has many struggles ahead of her to include heart and lung issues as she is currently in neonatal intensive care. Both Brian and his wife have been at the hospital day and night since the day she was born. Its exciting to get a new baby in the family, but also scary to see a little one struggle. Brian says this is why he pulled his sponsorship as he was unable to take of his daughter and his customers. He doubts he will even be able to get to Cubarama this year, being the first one he has ever missed, as his daughter may be there for a while. I told him that kids would alter his tractor time, but i know idea....

Brian, you have my families prayers during this hard time. As i have already told you if there is anything that i can do to help you, just let me know. I look forward to seeing you again at a cub event and meeting your daughter as well.

PS My 13 yr old had RSV as a 6 month old, and life flighted to a childrens hospital and the wife and i spent what seemed like weeks in the intensive care unit, if it wasnt for the prayers of my church and family members, i am sure the result would have been different.

Brian:

First congratulations on your new-to-this-world daughter Cali. The Lord has blessed you with a beautiful child to love and to cherish and to protect. Be joyful that He has blessed all of you with each other.

His plan we do not nor can not ever know, but trust in the Lord, place your faith in the Lord, and pray to the Lord for His plan to be fulfilled. I know that you and your wife will be excellent parents to Cali and will be able to travel this journey that has been set before you. the Lord gives unto us what we need, both large and small for all.

As a new grandparent facing similar yet not so scary a scenario with our granddaughter, my heart goes out to you and your wife as you struggle to face these challenges. We shall keep you in our prayers (+) Peace to you and yours.
