A Special Lady Needs Your Prayers

Well, you all know that this Cub Community Family of ours has a very real connection for many of us, and the friendships we have made here really do provide the strength that we sometimes need when faced with adversity. It is through friends and family that we derive the strenght to persevere. I thank the Lord for these friendships daily. The ability to actually express our concerns, fears and needs without fear is another benefit of this wonderful community.
Tonight, Em and I got a very disturbing call from my Mom a couple hours ago, and I have been trying since then to digest and come to grips with the ramifications of what she shared with us. I had a bad, bad feeling when she called.
As many of you know, my Mom was here for Em and I as we went down the Sextuple By-Pass Highway back in 2004. And she was there for us when I went through the emergency abdominal surgery less than 3 months later. That June in 2005, Mom had to go through a Triple By-Pass in Ottawa then, and through all of these events my friends at Farmallcub.com have been there to help us through. The prayers and wishes did help, of that we are positive. When we pray to the Lord, He hears us, and according to His will, all will be according to His plan.
Tonight Mom told us that she has a couple of problems. They found that she has two Aneurysms, one is in the heart near the site of the scaring from her original heart attack. The second is an Aortic Aneurysm below the heart. This is worrying enough for us, and quite frankly I am scared.. really scared. I know how fast an Aneurysm can burst, as I have lost a friend from a Pulmonary Aneurysm. I have already lost my Dad, I am frightened of losing my Mom and this is a very real possibility. To make matters worse, she then told us that the doctors were doing other tests, and they found some lumps/cysts/polyps in her colon. They did some more tests and they have determined that she now has Stage 2 Bowel Cancer. They feel it is localized, but they will not know for certain until they do a biopsy.
There is another problem. For her to have the surgery she has to come off of her blood thinners. This obviously has major complications for her heart problems and the risk of the Aneurysms rupturing increases with the increase in blood pressure from cessation of the blood thinners.
So, here be the request...
Would you please keep my Mom in your prayers? I know how much the power of prayer can help.. been there, felt it, became renewed by it. Em and I continue to pray daily for all of God's children and their needs. We certainly could use all the help we can get right now as we pray for my Mom's health.
Mom is scheduled for the colon surgery Jan 22nd depending on how the Thrombosis Clinic evaluation goes.
Peace (+) and the Lord's Blessings to all of you.
