...after 32 years of teaching, I came home from cleaning up and checking out for the last time. :{_}: :{_}:

My wife was waiting with the camera. I think she thought I would be in tears.

Remember, retirement means twice the husband and half the money.
The bad thing about retirement is you never get a day off..

My wife retired form teaching last year, and has been very happy. No tears from her.

Thanks, guys!

I'm only 55, so I'll still need to work some to supplement my Kansas teacher retirement income. Ive been doing carpentry/handyman jobs during the summer for the last 30 years and plan to continue and expand that business. I won't need to work full-time and being self-employed will allow us to take time to do some things we have never been able to do because of the school schedule. Time for the old tractors is important, too! :D

It was a good run and I had some good times, but I'm ready for a change.:)

Ike:

First congrats :applause: on retiring from your primary profession. 32 years of teaching is something to be proud of. Good luck on your secondary profession, building stuff is always enjoyable.

Remember this though.. after you have been retired for a few years, you are going to be wondering how and where you ever found the time to have a full time job/career/vocation. Retirement is a full time job all by itself :big smile:

Again congratulation on a good long run :!: :D

Congratulations, Ike. I hope you enjoy retirement and stay busy as much as I do. Annie says I should get a job to have some free time. :D :D
