Go Yankees!

Postby lildog » Wed Jul 08, 2009 8:46 pm

No, not the New York Yankees, the Chillicothe Youth Baseball League Yankees.

Mikey's little league team (coach pitch) has steamrolled their way into the Championship. They went undefeated in the regular season and are 4 and 0 in the playoffs (they invoked the mercy rule in three out of the four playoff games). They play for the whole enchilada on Friday night. I'm stoked.. and I don't even like baseball that much.

Send up a cheer - Go Yankees!

Here's the Yankees:

Great to hear John. Go for it all Mikey, we're behind you all the way.

To be honest, from looking at the subject line, at first I thought Bigdog scored a Cub from outta the south.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

We'll find out who we're playing tonight. It will either be the team we beat 12-1 last night (Red Sox) or the team we beat 14-3 last week (Cubs).

I love little league baseball, as far as the name of the team and seeing those poor kids with that NY logo on thier shirts, I know they don't know any better makes my Red Sox blood boil. Only kidding I enjoyed both my son and daughters years in youth league it goes by too fast enjoy it. Through both kids youth and school careers I am proud to say I never missed a game. Best of luck to these young cute ballplayers, sorry just can't say Yankees, whoops I did.

Well, the Yankees fell to the Cubs tonight 8-5. :(

Good news is it's double elimination, so we get one more shot. We've already beat them once in the playoffs, so tomorrow is for all the marbles.

BTW, the kids definitely took the loss better than the adults.

You are not allowed to name a little league team in New England the "Yankees" :D

Great memories were made I'm sure...

Yeah, but in Ohio, all we have are the Reds and Indians, which means we have little choice but to be Yankees fans.

Like I say for professional football: In Ohio we have the Bengals and the Browns, which of course means that if you live in Ohio, you're a Steelers fan.
