Fellow Firefighter and His Family Need Your Prayers

Postby farmallcub49 » Wed Jan 27, 2010 5:18 pm

http://www.sctimes.com/article/20100127/NEWS01/101270037/1009/Clearwater-firefighter-hit-by-vehicle-on-I-94

The link tells the story. He needs all the prayers he can get, he was lucky, it could have been much worse. People please slow down and pull over into the passing lane when possible. We risk our lives to help others, accidents like this shouldn't happen, give Fire, EMS, and the Police room to do there job, PLEASE.

Those of you in the service, active or retired, can look at the photo and learn some things, but please don't do like the public is doing here and judging those involved. Just prayer for him.

As a retired chief with 30 years on a small volunteer dept., I have seen many close calls and I still get that sick feeling when I see something like this. Our prayers go out to this family, as well as the Fire Dept. I'd like to also remind people to slow up and stay alert in construction areas. We had a county highway worker hit it our township several years ago while placing the work zone signs. Luckily he only suffered a broken leg. My nephew was hit while taking down the signs at his city job when he was about 30 and will use a leg brace and cane for the rest of his life, as well as never working again. So I'll get off the soapbox, but PLEASE all you Fire, EMS and road workers out there BE CAREFUL and STAY ALERT. John

Prayers on the way from Georgia...
I found this old Cub, Forgotten and Forlorn,
With pistons and valves frozen and worn.
Help from my buddies on Farmallcub.com,
And an engine from Ralph, (37’s the one),
Now ole Corky is running and back to life,
Much to the surprise of my dear, dear wife!
