Bill my heartfelt concern for your situation, the V.A. is a great place for your son to be. Being a veteran and working with veterans everyday in one of the nations largest mental health facilities, I see everyday the reflections of war written on the face in my brothers. Time is a healing aid that in conjunction with appropriate therapy and support has brought many of us out of some very dark places back into the fold of being productive citizens. Personally it took me 6-8 years to make it home in mind. I have been diagnosed as chronic PTSD which the govt. says means that i will never fully stop suffering from the effects of the trauma. my concern, and most other vets i know, is that others don't have to suffer with us . Believe this , it can get better with time.

Bill, your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. His service to this country is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately he is paying a price for all of us to have our freedom. I can not imagine the things he has dealt with during his service, I only hope he can find his way through the tough times and emerge a stronger person due to his struggles.
