With all this "hip talk" I figure I'd better report on Candy. She had her right hip replaced 3 1/2 years ago, and about a year ago this particular implant was recalled. Not all were a problem but her's gave her some difficulties (inflamation and fluid retention).
A week ago Friday (9/30) it was replaced with upgraded components. Every thing went well, but unlike John Puckett, she didn't want to talk Cubs. She complained about the food and the nurses waking her every hour to take blood or to check vitals. After two days (Sunday) they released her to come home and get some rest. She used her walker until yesterday when the therapist switched her to her cane. Really great progress, but she's quite the veteran (two knee replacements, one knee revision, one hip replacement and one hip revision).

Re: Candy's Hip Replacement
Thanks for the update. I'm glad it is going well. Are you sure they wanted to release her or were they tired of the complaining? I'll make sure Roxie Rosie gets the news also. She had been asking be about Candy's progress.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Denny,
Groovy, cool dude and far out, how is that for a little more Hip Talk? (For us old timers any way… well, perhaps not… )
Seriously, glad to hear things went well with Candy and things are progressing great, give her my best. I look forward to seeing her smiling face bounding around at the next Cub Fest.

I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Re: Candy's Hip Replacement
Candi, glad you are doing well. I didn't seem to have much problem with them waking me up, but have to agree, the food was bad, all but just a couple meals really sucked.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
