Not a good year for Dads

I to am losing my dad.He will be moved to hospice in a day or two.He had a bad stroke a few weeks ago and I was hoping for the best.Jim just lost his dad,now I will be losing mine,,a fact of life but does not make it any easier.I am lucky to have done a lot with my dad.He also had a full life.He sail[him and mom] a 32 ft Bristol sailboat to Greece and back.I was lucky to join them in San Jaun PR and sail back to Annapolis Md.Dad wasn't much on tractors or fixing mechanical stuff,,,more of a thinker.Let me do the fixing.....It stinks getting older and seeing loved ones go.....Kevin

Kevin - I can't say more than what the others have said. It is never easy to lose a loved one. We've all been there more times than we ever want to. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

If there is a silver lining to this cloud, it is that as the years go by, you will know that your Dad is still with you. I lost mine in 1995, and yet he is still with me today. At times, others in the family will look at me strange and remark that I sounded or acted just like my father....I can tell from your relationship it will be the same for you. So sorry to hear that you are going through this, and hope to see you at a cubfest real soon.
