Bob, That was a diamond back rattler. Had 5 rattles and the button. They are standing up toward the camera in the picture so you can't see them very well. And, NO, I have no desire to keep the things. The snake received a burial courtesy of the green tractor.

When Jim Foose sends me a weather report in the winter, I just shrug it off and put another layer on. But I lived in FLA before they invented AC, so I KNOW he is jealous that it's 71F here at 9 am on the last day of July. Don't know what they give you for snake bites now, but I was pretty allergic to Horse Serum back then  . Luckily the only rattlers around here are very scarce and I think they are protected or endangered. Take me to court if I cut the head off of one with a square shovel  . Don't ya'll have exploding trees too??
