Just sharpened my first chain with it. Old beat up chain, teeth were 1/2 the length of a new chain. Actually did a decent job of sharpening the chain.

Product is primarly plastic. Fit of the parts a bit loose. Manual is in "English". Explaination of set up - not very good. Actually, I just looked at the pictures to figure out the set up - set up is not complicated. Operation is fast and easy.

Product is probably ok for occasional use. Definitely not for someone who needs to sharpen chains on a frequent basis.

Eugene - I agree. I have one of them and as you said, it is not difficult to figure out how to set up and use it. For occasional use it will beat chasing someone down to sharpen chains.

I have one . Sharpened over 30 times, and its still working. I treat it rather gently,as Harbor Freight electric motors are not the best. Cheap, though. First 3 or 4 sharpenings, pays for the tool. Ed

Son has one of these sharpeners. Say it works great. Will have to borrow his sharpener to try it out.

Long story. Son and I planning to remove a blown tree from the pasture. Son arrived with a small canvas bag in hand. Said he was going to sharpen the chains. Informed son that I had just sharpened the chains. Loaded up the pickup. Son placed the canvas bag in the front seat. He didn't let the bag out of his site.

Son took the canvas bag with him when he left. Will have to borrow the sharpener to see how it works.

The price of the tool and cutters seems a bit expensive. Considering that we have 3 chain saws and perhaps 6 new and sharpened chains in the tool box, would probably pay for itself in short order.

Will write a review after trying out the tool.

Still using mine. Might need to replace the sharpening stone, next year.

When I purchased the chain sharpener almost 8 years ago, I purchased two additional stones. The 2 stones are still in their original wrapping.

Have no idea how many chains I have sharpened in the almost 8 years. Sharpened two chains today. Do recall purchasing new chains to replace worn out ones during that time period.

I have a 12v homelite unit from Home Depot. Not like Homelite makes them, they just put their name on it and it's probably the same as harbor freights.
I like it as I use the tractors battery and it does a pretty good job.
Beats taking chains to the shop to sharpen and I think they take more off than they should so I noticed the chains are lasting longer.
