Just a reminder, Sears sold their Craftsman line of tools to Stanley (Black & Decker) a year or two ago. Sears in dire financial straights.

Went to Lowe’s lastnight and they are now selling craftsman tools and tool boxes and had a big sign up. Doesn’t make sense to me with their Kobalt line but glad cause I have a lot of craftsman tools that may need trading one day.

I've wondered if Lowe's won't phase out Kobalt since they are selling Craftsman now.

They may, to me Kobalt tools are good. I was glad to see craftsman in there since I’ve had several ratchets and other items to trade out over the years. Lowe’s is closer to me than anywhere else I could trade them in the past.

My local Lowes is carrying Craftsman as well.
They told me they weren't doing tool replacements.
All they had was a phone number to call about them.

I didn't talk to anyone there about replacing any, that makes me not want to buy anymore Craftsman tools :D

Sad to see this happen to the Craftsman tool line. Sears has had the Craftsman line longer than any of us have been around. Good write-up on the Vintage Machinery website located here: http://vintagemachinery.org/mfgIndex/detail.aspx?id=222 (I think this portion is free to non-members; hope so).

I made my decision to go with the Craftsman line of sockets and wrenches many years ago, knowing if I ever broke one, a free replacement was only a stop away at my local Sears store. Now, the local Sears isn't so local.

Time changes everything...

Stanley, Black & Decker, who now owns Craftsman tools, just announced more new tools.
