Wall mounted work bench

Postby Rob in NH » Sun Jun 11, 2017 7:55 pm

I've been mulling over idea's for work benchs but really don't have the space so i searched and found one made by Bench Solutions. This bench is a kit that you put together , takes about an hour and a half. It is really solidly built am very happy with it.

Good idea to have it swing down out of the way when not in use. Nice.

One question, though...do you REALLY think you will ever clean it off to lower it back down??!!!

Rob, I built one for the small shop. Piece of pre formed countertop, hinged to the wall, with fold down legs. Works good, but is rarely folded down! Buried in "stuff"!

Just lower it, it will automatically clean itself off. :D I made one for a work shop I had several years ago, though not as fancy. It was both for mechanical work, or electronics since I was running Motorola 2 way radio shop at the time. It hinged upward and had 2 legs on hinges that fit into sockets in the floor when lowered. It has been over 40 years ago and if I remember correctly, just a 2' x4' piece of 3/4 inch plywood with 2x4 frame around it and 2x4 joists across it for strength. It spent most of it's time down and only got folded if I needed the room for serious mechanical work on garden tractor, etc. Did not have a cub yet then.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
