Photobucket

Postby BIGHOSS » Thu May 18, 2017 6:49 am

I have been a member here for 10 years and all of that time I have exclusively used Photobucket to store and attach my pics to a topic. The last year or so it is no longer fun for me to go through the agony of using Photobucket. First of all, I now get an ominous warning from my McAfee to be aware of entering their site. My computer runs very slowly while on the site. It seems to take forever to upload pics anymore.

Are there other photohost sites around that work better? Or is it easier to use a website to resize your too large pics so you can attach them directly to a forum topic.

Your computer should have Paint as one of the standard programs. You can resize pictures using that. Open pic with Paint, upper toolbar, left end of toolbar has a "Resize" option. Set it to Pixels and put in 1000 for the horizontal (width). Do a SaveAS and rename pic if you don't want to resize the original.

That seems to satisfy the size limit when I use the Attachment feature on the forum.

Hope this helps. Have a great one!

Thanks Stanton, that works for me. Took me a long time to locate Paint on my Windows 10, but it is now pinned to my taskbar.

I am working on adding new software to the photohost that is much better than what we had. I am still testing it. The guys who tried it so far like it. However, I have to figure out how to move all the current photos to the new version with out losing anything.
It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.

In the meantime, Irfanview works well for me for resizing.
