I've had that happen before and just figured my computer was slow to give the notice, sometimes by several days. I finally just changed my profile(checked it "OFF") so it doesn't give anymore day late, dollar short, notices.
You sure John, maybe your moderator status can.

I've tried to delete several PM's I've sent(because of not being answered in several weeks) and all it will let me do is edit the actual post. It will however let me store or delete the message from the storage folder. I end up hitting the edit button, erase everything, then enter a smiley face. It won't let you leave things blank. It will be in his out box and can be deleted till you read it.

You can delete from both the "Outbox" (files that have been sent, received, and read) as well as from the "SentBox" (These files haven't been read yet by the recepient). Odds are, it was just a matter of timing. Someone could have been deleting it just prior to trying to go and open the file?

From what I have seen, you can delete from all of the folders in PM, but the only one that will keep someone else from seeing the sent mail will be the Outbox. Sentbox means that the person has already read it and it is in their "inbox" at that point... Someone please correct me if I am wrong...
