Recently I have been getting all kinds of messages while navigating the Forum. Listed below is just one of them.
Could not query new topic information
DEBUG MODE
SQL Error : 1053 Server shutdown in progress
SELECT t.forum_id, t.topic_id, p.post_time FROM phpbb_topics t, phpbb_posts p WHERE p.post_id = t.topic_last_post_id AND p.post_time > 1203433124 AND t.topic_moved_id = 0
Line : 219
File : index.php
It makes no sense to me, but to those who know, it probably will. Pete

I've seen those too. Also, I just got this one which I see sometimes. Never seems to take more than a minute or two to start working again though.

Guys:
Those are phpbbs software system messages... means a variety of things..
phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database
indicates a glitch in the database, this can be cause by a bad packet of data.. or a timeout problem. -- Wait a sec or two, then resubmit. Could not query new topic information

This is just another time out or database corruption error. They happen from time to time.. however the key to this one is in the server shutdown statement.. the server is rebooting.. any you probably caught the host in a maintenance cycle.
Oh.. I moved this here as it is probably better suited to the Message Board Questions than Feedback..

Okay, Rudi, thanks. I was wondering why I used to never get those messages that I have seen others talk about, and then here lately, they pop up rather consistently.
