Help Needed Sizing an Avatar Picture PROBLEM SOLVED

Postby lazyuniondriver » Thu Oct 18, 2012 9:54 pm

I seldom turn on my laptop anymore, anything and everything I ever needed to do can be done on my smart phone, which also contains thousands of high quality pictures I've taken.

I found an editing app that shrinks my pics down below the threshold for posting on the forum.

The problem is my smart phone isn't smart enough to shrink a picture down small enough to be used as an avatar picture.

Would one of you gentleman who is a master at photo editing be able to download the picture from this post, re size it and mail it back to me at : lazyuniondriver@yahoo.com. ?

I don't know if the lettering will be visable once it is cut down to the avatar size requirements but I'd like to give it a shot.

Thanking you in advance, I really do appreciate this.

It's not taking it from my "smartphone". I'm going to have to try it from my laptop. Thanks Raymond.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

I sure do appreciate your effort! If I can't get Raymonds to stick, I'll snatch one of yours. Thanks Bob.

Gentlemen:
Thanks for the effort all 3 of you put in attempting to shrink that picture.
Unfortunately, all of them are tilting the KB scale too far over. The size dimensions passed the test but not the KB test.

Raymond emailed me one directly, Bob made bunch for the host site, and Barnyard left one for me on the forum post.

I tried them all and received the Avatar filesize must be between 0-2 KB failure message. According to my phone, they weighed in between 11 and 4.1 KB.

I even copied Bobs and Barnyards picture urls from the photo host and pasted them in the appropriate boxes and received an invalid url message.

I hate to give up but I feel the picture was hard enough to read full size, shrinking it made it really hard to read so if we go any smaller it will look like a hubcap of something. Would of been cool but I'll find something else.

What do you guys think?

The second or lower one measures in at 4 KB after I downloaded it. You would think the url trick would do it instead of the upload. Has me puzzled!

Mystery Solved! Thanks again guys. A little persistence paid off! It is linked thru photo host and it actually doesn't look that bad.

You need to save into your photo album. If it is ever deleted from my album it will disappear from your profile.

Yes I'll do that. I wound up linking to the biggest image which was yours. I'm not real sure why I was having such an issue getting it uploaded... Some days are better than others... Many thanks!

Check your email. One that is less than 2.0kb has been sent. You can then upload it directly to your UCP.
