I was wondering how and when this forum got started.
I see a few members joined in early 2003. Did you have a forum before this or defect from another? Who is Dennis and why is he the admin, he doesn't seem to participate in Cub discussions much.

Re: Cub ForumPrior to this forum as we know it there was another but it crashed and this was started.
Dennis is Dennis Raney. He is the person who started and owns this website. I'm sure he does see pretty much everything that goes on and with so many members answering questions he feels it is in good hands. As owner I guess he has every right to be the administrator. I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: Cub Forum
You joined in 2007? Were you also a part of the previous forum?
Re: Cub ForumNo, I came along later. Most every body with early 2003 join dates were part of the earlier group.

Re: Cub Forumindy,
If you click on the Members icon in the upper right corner, then click on "Joined" it will sort by date. You will probably have to click again to have it start in 2003. Peter
Re: Cub ForumI was a member before the first modern phpBBS forum was brought online. If memory serves I joined in late 1999 or very early 2000, maybe even a tad later. George Willer, Jim Becker, Darrell (BigDog) Ratliff, Tom Geisler, Country Elliot and a few others were some of the original members when Dennis created the original Farmallcub.com Bulletin Board Service or bbs. It was an interesting time. I think it was in late 2002 when we lost the first forum and it had to be rebuilt. That is one of the reasons why you see different days for logins for the first 200 or so members. The first 68 members logged on Feb 02, 2003. It took a few days for everyone to get back on site. IIRC, the old style bbs was still running as a backup which was how we were able to carry some stuff forward - but my memory could be a little rough on that point. If you check their member id numbers you will see that we have lost a fair number of the originals over the years.
I know that I had saved a lot of neat information - printed out etc., and saved in a binder which proved useful later on as we tried to rebuild our resources. Others did the same thankfully which prevented the loss of everything, but we still lost a lot of good inf. It was a ground up rebuild. Thankfully we haven't had a major crash since and I keep my fingers and toes crossed. Confusion breeds Discussion which breeds Knowledge which breeds Confidence which breeds Friendship

Re: Cub ForumI would just like to say thanks to all you guys who started this site, who have maintained this site, who have added so much invaluable information, who have taken the time to answer our questions and keep things clean and going and growing.

It was a rough start; without the help of the many friends and fans it would not have been possible to keep this labor of love going for this long -- and longer still. Dennis "Time makes more converts than reason."
